How do I sign up for LiveChat Person for my website?
Getting started with LiveChat Person is very simple. No software to download or servers to configure! LiveChat Person is a 100% hosted solution which requires no servers to configure, maintain, or update. To sign-up, please fill the online application through Order and Pricing link (located on top) or send email to sales@livechatperson.com


How long does it take to become live with LiveChatPerson?
LiveChat Person is activated within 24 hours once you have completed the online application form.

Why do I need a Members account and password?
The password that you enter in a Members section is used so that you can access the admin screen and begin configuring/customizing your solution.

Who can configure LiveChatPerson?
The admin person or any operators who are given administrative rights. LiveChat Person can be configured by any admin person or operator to whom the administrative rights has been provided by your organisation.

What if I lost my password?
To retrieve your password, please click the link "Forgot Password" located below the sign-in tab. For any immediate assistance please email to support@livechatperson.com.

How do I add an additional department?
To add a department you need to log in to the Administrator Login Panel your User ID and password. Click on "Department List" then " Create Department". Please note that you can create maximum "5" departments. For more information click on Help once you login.


How do I get access to my web page?
You should have FTP access to your site, which would have been given to you by your web-hosting provider. You can always call them up and ask them for the pages you want the button on and proceed from there. However we will be happy to do this for you. What are logs?
Logs are the saved files of your chat sessions.

Why are logs useful to me?
By viewing your operator logs, a supervisor can monitor operator performance as well as gain useful customer feedback.

Where do I find my operators text logs?
Log files of monthly chat will be emailed to you at the end of every month.

Do I need to download anything?
LiveChatPerson is an ASP model. Since ASP is an online network that is accessible through the Internet instead of through the installation of software. Livechat Person does not require downloading any software.

What are the benefits of Administrator Control Panel?
LiveChat Person Administrators have many abilities that allow them to manage all the departments within their panel. Administrator features include real-time monitoring, analyzing, and reporting of all department performance.

Can an administrator view a text chat while it is occurring?
Yes, it is possible through the admin section of our web site. Once logged into admin, click on Chat History. Select the department and follow the links to the chat. You can view the entier chat transcription by clicking the link below the coloumn "Topic".

Can an administrator view offline messages send by the visitor to a particuler department?
Yes, it is possible through the admin section of our web site. Once logged into admin, click on Email History. Select the department and follow the links to the email message. You can view the entier message by clicking the link below the coloumn " User Topic".

Can an administrator delete a particular department?
Yes, the administrator can delete a particular department. Click on "Delete" option of the department you wish to delete. For more information click on Help once you login or send email to support@livechatperson.com for immediate assistance.

How do I log in as an operator?
LiveChatPerson will provide you a link from where you can access the operator console.

Can I logon to the operator console using the Admin username?

No, you cannot. You need to login using the username and password of an operator that was setup by your Administrator.

What is Website Tracking?
Live Chat person Website tracking enables your Representative to track website visitors from anywhere and allows him/her to directly chat with them for assistance. Typically for instance, the number of visitors to a page, where they came from and possibly which search engine query they used to find your site.

How to install website tracker on my website?
You will receive Website Tracker installation guide within 24 hours once you have completed the online application form.

Where can I find my Website Tracker Javascript code?
After creating an account you will automatically receive an email with your login information and unique Javascript code. If you find any difficutly to follow the procedure, then please click to the below link.

How many pages can I measure?
LiveChat Person measures an unlimited number of pages. Unlike other providers of measurement solutions, we do not charge you per page measured.

Who has access to my statistics?
Only people who have the password may view your statistics.

Can I access my statistics from any computer?
Yes. Your statistics can be viewed 24/7 from any computer connected to the Internet using your login and password details.

How do I answer a text call?
A chat window directly opens at your operator console. You will see the visitor's name, email and essential identities specified. through this window you can communicate with the customer. You will then be able to type into the lower box and either press Enter or click Send to actually send whatever was typed to your customer.

How many text calls can an operator handle at one time?
LiveChatPerson allows you to handle 20 text calls at any given time.Note: it is advised to clear your current visitors list by closing chats which have been terminated or if visitor has ended the chat

What if I forget my operator password?
You will need to ask your administrator to go in to admin and manually change your password to a new one or by clicking on forget password link at login console.

What if some of my operators wanted to work from home?
Because the entire LiveChatPerson solution is web-based, your operators can be sitting next to each other or be sitting across the world from one another.

How do I transfer a text call?
Click transfer and it will transfer your call to an appropriate operator. Operator's department can be setup by an administrator.

How do I receive a transferred text call?
You will receive the call just like you would receive any other calls.

The LiveChatPerson solution is primarily a hosted solution. Only in rare cases would it be necessary for us to offer our customers to host it themselves. Despite this information, if you feel that you have a compelling reason to host the solution yourself, please email to sales@livechatperson.com

Is there a fee for hosting LiveChatPerson on my own server?

Does LiveChatPerson work behind a firewall?
Yes

If the customer is behind a firewall, what limitations are there?
None.

Which platforms are compatible with LiveChatPerson?
All platforms with Web browsers: Internet Explorer 4.0+, Netscape 4.0+ or AOL

Which browsers does LiveChatPerson support?
Web customers and operators are supported on all the latest browsers.

Whether LiveChatPerson is compatible with pop-up blockers?
Website visitors will be able to initiate and accept proactive chat sessions if they have pop up blocking software enabled. For your representative, you will need to turn off pop-up blocking software, or allow pop-ups for your representative console.

Whether LiveChatPerson compatible with Cookies?
Please note that if your website disable cookies, then you will not be able to track them via the site monitoring tool, but you can still initiate proactive chats. For the operator browser, we recommend enabling cookies.

What operating system platforms and browsers is LiveChat Person compatible with?
LiveChatPerson work with Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, and Mac OSX. The browsers that are compatible for the visitor include the current versions of Safari, Firefox, Netscape, and Internet Explorer. As for the Operator Console, we recommend using Firefox and Internet Explorer only.
